At least ten years ago, I researched branches of my family that were
from Werschetz (now Vrsac, Serbia). I was able to get quite a bit of
information through microfilmed church records at the local LDS Family
History Library. Of course, due to the ravages of many wars in the area,
some time periods are not available.

However, let me suggest that you look under "Hungary, Banat,
Weisskirchen". Try:
http://www.familysearch.org/Search/searchcatalog.asp
Do a place search and enter Weisskirchen for place
Where it says "Part of" enter "Banat"
You can take it from there and order the microfilms if you wish.

As far as names are concerned, I found the following in my WERSCHETZ
book. Werschetz (Vrsac) in slightly to the north of Bela Crkva
ERGER, Franz - Backer
Karl - Spezereihandler
WOLF, Prof. DDr. Josef (Kaplan) - numerous referencesDr. Karl -
numerous references
WOLF Family - In WERSCHETZ book on page 479 "...Zu dieser Zeit gab es
in Werschetz nur wenige Ungarn, letztere verrichteten nur knechtliche
Dienstleistungen und die Germanisierung von Namen (von Farkas auf Wolf,
von Csillag auf Stern) war an der Tagesordnumg..."
On page 51 "...Unmittelbar nach den Erstgenannten kamen nachstehende
Familien an: ... WOLF..."
