Hi,

IGNORE THIS MESSAGE AFTER FRIDAY OCT. 1 (I only want responses for one day)

I have searched the list owners list and there appears to be an unresolved
problem with the "Interactive Search of Mailing Lists" searches. It also
appears that some folks can access the Banat's "Interactive Search of
Mailing Lists" page and some cannot. I would like to gather a little
information before I request support from the ROOTSWEB support team. I
have created a test for you to run. Again, this is only to be done on
~!~!Friday!~!~!

PLEASE REPLY DIRECTLY TO ME AND NOT TO THE BANAT LIST at:

If you cannot follow the instructions below please don't participate.

It is very important that we all do exactly the same test. In the
following steps I have included quotes around the text strings so we all
use the same exact string, however in your test DO NOT USE THE QUOTES. So
here are the step by step instructions:

Point your browser at: "http://rootsweb.com";

Use the "Interactive Search of Mailing Lists" pick about half way down
the page on the left side.

At the "Name of List" prompt enter "banat" and submit query

At the "Query" prompt enter "01 Sept 1999" and "Select database to
search" 1999 and search.

I do not need to know the details of your query if it is roughly the same
as what I get. I got the following:

Matching Record Count: 2
Total Retrieved: 2
Interpreted Query: 01 Sept 1999
Total Database Records: 2016

followed by the time it took and header for each of the 2 messages.

INCLUDE IN YOUR REPLY:

Let me know if it worked or not.

OS and version you are running(i.e. Win 3.x, Win 95 OSB, SR1 SR2..., WIN/NT
Server/WS..SR1-SR5 ... if you are using UNIX or Macs Please don't participate)

Web Browser you are using and version (i.e IE 4.?, IE 5.?, Netscape 4.5...)

The URL and at which step (from above) you got the "forbidden..." error.
Please don't include any other errors you may have gotten. If you get
another error please do not reply.

Thanx,
Chris
