This was put together to aid the descendants of families of the
Banat to read and understand genealogical records kept there.

It started for personal reference from symbols, abbreviations and terms I
came across in my own research. Then I started adding to it from lists
found all over the internet. I decided to share with the list in an attempt
to repay the hugh amounts of generous given to me by the wonderful people
of the Banat-L.

Since I neither speak nor read German, I can take non of the credit [ or
discredit for that matter ;) ] for the many translations .... all I did is
collect it and try to keep it close to alphabetical.

Thanks must be given to Nikolaus Bruck for his generous help with the
definitions and comments as to how some of the list pertains to the Banat.

As always, additions and corrections encouraged and welcome.
