I am having some problems tracking down my great-grand-father, Antone
Remsing. He was the father of Mathias Remsing, who was married to Mary
Nuber. Mathias arrived in the United States supposedly aboard the
Kaiser Wilhelm der Grosse on March 24, 1917. I do have his declaration
of intention that states that is the date and name of the ship. Mathias
was born on March 26, 1870 in Molidorf. I sent off to the National
Archives for the passenger ship list, but it came back negative. They
could not find Mathias on there. Any suggestion on that part of my
search ? Also, on Antone, I do not have a date of arrival in the U.S.,
but in hearsay he was married aboard the ship to Barbara (also known as
Bertha) last name variations are Farenholtz, Faraholtz, Fereholtz. If
any of these names sound familiar to anyone, I would appreciate any
information you may have.
