Hi Group;
I believe some time ago there was some discussion regarding this subject,
but I can't seem to find any record of it. My great-uncle told me about a
group called "Turnerverein" in Cleveland, which he remembered from just
after WWI. He said this was a singing group--but I thought a Turnerverein
was more of a gymnastic group. We have a picture from 1914, which he said
was the Cleveland Turnerverein, which has my Grandfather Wilhelm Kumher
(just arrived from Reschitz) in it.
Tried searching on the Net, but didn't come up with much useful.
So, what is a Turnerverein?
