I have searched many of Beginning Genealogy help sites
and I swear I could not find this basic info. I know
some of you very experienced researchers can answer
this for me.
How do you document the locations? Do you use the
current name of the City and Country? Or the name at
the time of the event?
Also there are different spelling of names on
different records. What is the correct spelling to
use? I know church records tend to be latin but is it
correct to use the German spelling for example for
German ancestors in the Banat. Example I have Johann,
Joannes, Janos all on separate records for the same
person.
I really appreciate this info.
