To all who Love Banat and being a Donauswabian:

After being away from this group for a year I am back on course to doing more
research on my family. I just finished teaching a summer school course on
Eastern European History ( I drifted away from what the University wanted
taught in the class to rather informing the students about the history of the
region of Banat,Bacs (Batschka),Baranya (Baranja),Slavonia (Slawonien),Srem
(Syrmien) and other important areas as they related to each other. Last
Wednesday I had the Chair of the History Department and two other instuctors
sit on on my last class as my evaluation as with the final for my students,
after the class I was informed that the form of European History I presented
to the class was very interesting. They had NEVER heared of the
Donauswabians or even the history and I will now be presenting a forum once a
month for a older group of students.

My interests in being a Donauswabian ranges from my license plate on my car:
BANAT
My Email address:
The tattoo on my left arm: the symbol of being a Donauswabian
And my trips to Serbia and to Germany

I am researching: KLEK, Ernsthausen, Katriefeld, NEUZINA, Jarovac,. The
history of the death camps at Gakowa and Rudolfsgnad and other towns that
had been designated as concentration camps by Tito's henchmen and Also into
the customs, lifestyles and into the traditions.

The families that I have researched and will continue to research ARE:

DEKOLD,
FURO
HEH,
Valarie
MULROTH
Himmel
Potje
Parmantje

I just returned this past Monday from Canada where I was able to view a
military book of my great Uncle who served in the Prinz Eugen Division of the
SS based from Banat and my eyes were reopened again and again as I turned the
pages.

Please help me learn about my heritage so I may pass it on to future
generations.

I feel that in in North America has there been a conspiracy of silence on
the ethnic cleansing of our people , but also in Germany, where every third
person is a refugee from communist oppression. Children are taught about the
"Holocaust" (of the JEWS) in school, but nothing of even greater atrocities
committed against others, both during and after World War II.

I am a single 41 year old male living in St. Louis, Missouri who feels that
at this time in his life his ambition is to carry the message of being a
Donauswabian can you help me carry this torch.
