The fact that a small number of people are not familiar with their email
functions and may miss posting to the list is not a valid reason to change
anything.  This could be better communicated by informing people in the
WELCOME email they receive about the choices as well as other information
about the conventions of being list members.  For anyone observant, the fact
that their posts are not showing up should mean they should inquire about why
not.

Among other things I think this was one of the better points in the long
discussion....

OK, I am confused what is the Best (meaning easiest and therefore User
friendly) way to respond to the messages on the list. Since I am an AOL
person I have the following ways.

1. Write a complete new message.
2. Press reply - and respond to only one person.
3. Press Reply All - and respond to one person twice but also the list.
4. Press Reply All - to respond just to the list which would include the one
person - but delete their name from the "Send To" box.

Have I missed anything?

If there could be a way to make these points clear every once in a while for
"new" members, maybe that would help with some of the confusion and lost info.

Thanks everyone for sharing the info. I have lost some enjoyment because I
could not figure out how to Post my response to the list correctly.

Then we could extend this conversation to include the "ways" on repeating
parts of messages from the original message that we are referring to. I like
how some times the thread can get lost if we do not reprint exactly what we
are referring to.

Example:
1. High Light the paragraph and then go to edit and copy and paste into new
response. But I believe there are other ways, also, or is this the Best way?

Thanks everyone for your help in these very basic functions.
