Are there any of you Banaters with ancestors from Bacowa and Busiasch?
My grandparents, Maria KARABENSCH and Andrew HAYDU (Heidu or Haidu) came
from there to North Dakota. He came in about 1897 with his brother Josef.
Their parents, Josef Haidu and Katherine WIHLARD, came in 1898.
Maria's brother, Karl KARABENSCH, came in 1913 and he settled in Hamilton
Co., Ohio. Their parents
were Johann Karabensch and Theresea BETTLA from Busiasch. The parents
didn't come to the US. They
also had another brother, Johann, who stayed in Hungary as far as I know.
Johann Sr.'s parents were Johann
and Elizabeth (don't know her maiden name).
Does anyone out there recognize any of these names? I have a fair
amount of info on my grandparents since
they lived in ND much of their lives and died there, but little other
than a few dates for the others.
