Thank you, Dave, and all who responded to my question about the
Neuland. I have written to the IFA and will pass their reply on to the
list when I receive it.

I ask about the possible existence of a microfilm version,
because it might be easier to use than the paper one which the UIC Library
has recently been fortunate enough to acquire.

For those of my fellow Banat-Listers who might be interested, though, a
virtually complete set (1948-1979, with only one missing issue) is now
housed in the Special Collections Department, Richard J. Daley Library,
University of Illinois at Chicago.

Some caveats:
1) This resource does not circulate; it may only be used onsite.
2) It was printed on newsprint paper, and is very fragile. It's possible
that photocopying will not be available.
3) There are over 1300 individual issues, and the contents have not
(to my knowledge) been indexed. You would want to narrow your search to
specific months or years.
4) It is, of course, in German.
5) If you plan to use it, contact the Special Collections staff before you
plan a trip. Complete information is available at:

http://www.uic.edu/depts/lib/specialcoll/services/rjd/index.shtml

Those cautions aside, I must say that we are very fortunate indeed
to have this rare and very special resource made available to us.

Best regards,
Dolores J. Barber
