Adam Moore (I think!)

I read with interest your E-mail posting to the Banat-D Digest V02 #284
regarding your comments about the Grape Festival Dance. I note also that the
signature to the message was "Karie in Ohio". Consequently, I'm a little
confused (my natural state!)

When I was very small, maybe 5 to 7 years old (that would have been in 1939
to 1941), I remember being taken by my parents to the Magyar Hyme in Akron to
the Grape Festival held there each autumn. It was a very celebration. It
seemed to me back then, that it was a very happy, joyous time. I can
remember much dancing, including the Czardas (sp?) and a lot of beer drinking
(maybe more than beer?)

Later, when I was a teenager, two of my cousins, Frankie and Richard Miller,
(one who was older and the other who was younger than me), became "King" of
the Grape Festival at different times, although I don't remember attending
the festival at that time.

Since you signed your message, "Karie in Ohio", are you from the Akron area?
Since you spoke of your "...Grandmother..." remembering the Grape Festival, I
would suspect that she and I may be of a similar age?

By the way, I could not find the photo labeled "Grapes Festival.jpg". I
would surely like to see it!
