Hello Marge.

Wiome; - John and Barbara (nee Jasper) Wiome, arrived in Qu'Appelle in 1903 from Yugoslavia. They settled in the Odessa, Saskatchewan district. John Wiome Jr. was four (4) years old at the time. Some of the grand children are still alive. I don't believe the Wiome's came from Zichydorf, but from a village close by.
A Barabar Wiome, from Klein-Komlosch, Banat, Romania, went to St.Louis,MO, in 1907.

Niedermayer; - Yes, there were many Niedermayers in Zichydorf. When they arrived in Canada, they settled in British Columbia and there still are some around.
If you are an Ice Hockey fan,- Scott Niedermayer, plays for the New Jersey Devils. (they're still in the play-offs). Rob Niedermayer, (brother to Scott) plays for the Anaheim-Ducks, they're playing against the Dallas Stars, in the play-off. Both were born in British Columbia.
There was more than one Niedermayer family in Zichydorf.

Konig (König);- There are many Koenig's in North America. I just telephoned a Mr. Hans Konig, here in Calgary, unfortunately he is out for the day. I'll try him again later and ask him if he came from Yugoslavia. There was a König family in "Gross-Sredischte" Banat, YU.

Hochlander (Hochländer) - I know two Hochlanders, if you want, let me know and I'll send you their snail address in private. There were Hochlanders in Zichydorf.

Boas; - was not a common name in Zichydorf, could've been abbreviated in Yugoslavia. If you check the Ship Abstraction's, you may want to check for the name of "Boos". There was a Boos family in Zichydorf.

Good luck in you research.

Alex Leeb
