Re.: The Christmas tree was hung with "Aepfeln, Nuessen, Zuckerwerk und
Lebzelt" (apples, nuts, candy). But what was Lebzelt?

Thinking some more on it, most likely it was written as LEBZEUG, meaning things made out of gingerbread.
