Lebzelt is gingerbread in Austrian dialect. My mother is from Sivatz and
she said that is what they also called gingerbread.
"Leb-" ist sprachlich mit Laib verwandt und soll " Gebackenes "
bezeichnen, "zelte(n)" kommt vom altdeutschen "zelto " für einen
"flachen Kuchen"; andere Erklärungen wollen " Leb-" auch vom
mittelalterlichen " libum" für "Faden" ableiten.

So sind Lebzelten eben Leb-, Lebküchner, oder auch Pfefferküchler deren
Bäcker.
