Through a good fortune the above book landed in to my hands, written by Dr. Jacob Steigerwald, a Donauschwabe living in the USA. His chapters on his youth and detention in a DEATH CAMP in Tito's Yugoslavia are superbly written. As a 15 year old orphan he managed to escape Tito's grasp through a daring break out and we learn of his struggle of survival and eventual success of earning a PhD in the States.

A real Danube Swabian success story and a great contribution to Danube Swabian history.
