Yes, Judy, we're having a blow-out party ... here in the Laurentians
Mountains resort of Mont Tremblant.

It's a reunion of all the Donauschwaben I can reach - all over the world.
Besides the good folks on this List, I have access to many in Canada, the
U.S., and Germany and Austria, as my parents (born in BATSCH in the
Batschka) are still young at 74 and 76, and they keep in touch with many,
many old friends, relatives, and acquaintances. We also have many friends
from LIEBLING in the Banat.

I hope you'll join us, as it will be the event of a lifetime ...

There will be food and dancing to a live band - besides the wonderful
facilities for golfing and swimming and fishing - and all else that this
hotel and the resort surroundings have to offer. I strongly urge you to
visit their website at www.legrandlodge.com

I'm hoping to put together a slide show presentation for each town
represented - counting on folks to donate their photos.

We may even have a "Miss Donauschwaben" competition with some nice prizes
for the young ladies that win. If any of the cities out there have
Donauscwaben folk dance groups, I want to hear from you, as we can make
arrangements for these groups also to have special rates to ensure their
presence at this function.

Any other talents - singing or speaking in the dialects, for example -
will also be exploited to the fullest, so don't hesitate to offer what you
have to contribute, as it can only make the event more enjoyable. Since
there are kitchens in the suites, perhaps we could also have a Donauschwaben
Cuisine Day with all food cooked by us Donauschwaben. Maybe the hotel
restaurant staff will learn a thing or two, yes?

Yes ... I'll have Mom make her braided bread. It's not only good at
Easter, after all. She also makes the most OUTSTANDING Dobos Torte you ever
laid eyes on ... Okay, Okay ... she'll make that too if I twist her arm
just a little. I'll bet she will even agree to do a cooking and baking
demonstartaion or two. Remember ... we have FOUR DAYS ... lots of time to
do a variety of fun things while we're there together.

By the way, children are more than welcome, as this hotel has everything
possible to keep the kids content and distacted.

So .. thanks for asking your question, as it's given me a chance to
elaborate on my plans.

Please get back to me with reservations and ideas. This will be a group
effort. It can only get better if you all add your "two cents' worth" !

Dennis ... I'm sorry you can't make it, but please send us your dance
group. Promise?

Renate in Montreal
