John and Larry,

I am very interested in this line because it was in Macon Co, TN. Larry,
thanks for the descendant chart and the pension info on Barbee's.

I am trying to find the parents of John "Smith" Barbee b. 1838 Macon Co, TN.
I have recent info that his parents are John Barbee and Polly. Smith was
orphaned, so it's going to be hard to find his father.

I am particularly interested in the John Barbee b. 5 Jun 1802 that you both
mention. What else do you know about John and where does this info come
from? I'm also interested in the Blankenship and Bandy connections you have.
According to a history of Macon Co, TN, the Barbee's, Blankenships, Gents
and Bandy's moved to TN from the same area in Virginia. Unfortunately, it
didn't say where in Virginia. Do you know where they came from? Also,
Blankenships moved with the Barbee's to Oklahoma in 1876 so the families seem
closely related.

John, the George Y. Barbee you mention was in Company E, First Regiment of
the Tennessee Mounted Infantry, Union Army with my John "Smith" Barbee.

John, I had different info on Francis T. Barbee's family. In the1850 census
- Macon Co, TN, 5th District he was listed with wife Mary and children, James
M.A. and Minervia E. Listed next to Edward and Narcissa M. Barbee. In the
1860 census - Macon Co, TN. F.T. Barbee was listed with wife Mary and child,
M.E.

You can see the John "Smith" Barbee line on my web page along with info on
all the other major Barbee lines. John, I sure would like to see the
complete descendancy you have on this line.
