Eleanor,
Just thought I'd mention a couple of coincidences that could indicate a
connection between your Barbers and mine (which are the same as Becky
Striggow's of this list). The name Green as a first name occurs in the
early to mid 1800's. Holden Barber had a son named Green who died as a
child from falling on his own knife. This would probably have been around
1840. And I've just found out that Barbers, Youngs and Stanfords
intermarried from 1712 on, in MD, VA, possibly NC and then GA. So your
Green Barber marrying Harriet Young sounds familiar. I know of a
Barber-Young marriage in 1853 in Columbia Co. GA. Interesting, huh?
