Subject: Help with Samuel Baird who was born in 1814 in Ohio and married ElizabethHarmon

I am posting about the Baird surname. I am a Baird descendant and have
not been able to get past a Samuel Baird born in 1814 in Ohio. His
census for 1880 says his father was born in NJ and mother in NY. A
cousin of mine says Samuel's father's name was Obediah Baird. My great
uncle sent me some information that my great grandpa told him. We have a
grant parent named Francis Randolph Baird that was a general in the
British Army who fought the dutch in the West Indies, he married a girl
named Mary who later married a man with the last name of Bunn. Francis
was from Canada I believe and settled in Minnesota. But I cannot find
anything what so ever on a Francis Randolph Baird. I know he had a
daughter named Isabel born in March of 1780 or 1790. Does any of this
sound familiar? Do you think we connect with you? Over 50 years of
research done by various family members of mine can't get past Samuel
Baird who was born in 1814 in Ohio and married Elizabeth Harmon. We are
stuck. I hope someone can help me. Please send e-mail if you have any
