naming conventions (from another mail List):
Subject: Scottish Naming Patterns
I understand that the Scottish tradition was as follows: For males: the first son after the father's father, the second after the mother's father, the third after the father, and free choice after that.
For females: the first daughter after the mother's mother, the second after the father's mother, the third after the mother, and then free choice.
