Good Morning, Friends & Cousins!

This is going to be a busy summer. I am taking two computer classes and
teaching a genealogy class. So, if I fall a little behind in answering
correspondence, please be patient - I will catch up.

My brother, Ralph Hugh Barger, as been working on the Rowan County, NC
Bargers, and has turned up documents relating to the convention to ratify
the U.S. Constitution, to which George Henry Barger (Berger) was a
delegate. He is also looking for military records. Our cousin, Richard
Wayne Barger, a current resident of Charlotte, NC has also become
interested. He will be visiting here next week and we plan to bring him
up to date on what we have been doing. I know he and his wife, Pam, will
be doing more on-site research in Salisbury and the surrounding area.
With enough of us working on this project, we are sure to turn up enough
sources to put together an interesting history of that branch of the
Barger family.

Richard's parents, who live in Rogers, AR, will be visiting here at the
same time. This will be a good opportunity to convince them that
genealogy is the perfect hobby for retired people.

Carl Barger is back home in AR, and tells me he had a wonderful time
doing genealogy research in MO. I trust he will send a message to the
list and tell us about doing hands-on research in the heartland. He is a
true inspiration to me. Nobody else I know can accomplish as much in as
little time as Carl. And, he NEVER gives up!

I just heard from Gaynell Barger Scott, too She has been off-line for a
while due to a computer disaster, but she is back and working hard on the
eastern Kentucky Bargers. During the time that her computer was down,
she may have lost some messages. So, if you wrote to her and didn't get
an answer, she was not ignoring you. Drop her another line.

We have some new members. Please join me in welcoming these people to
our group and encourage them to participate. The more of us who research
our family history, the easier and more interesting it becomes.
