Greetings,
Would appreciate any information about my gg-grandfather, William
Wilborforce "WW" BARKER or his family - especially his parents and
siblings. WW's father was born in England, his mother NY. His father
may have been Orlando BARKER residing in Naples, Seneca Co., NY
prior to 1850. His mother may have been Abigail BARKER who was
living in Seneca, Ontario Co., NY in 1850 and 1860.
WW was born 1829 in NY, probably Ontario CO in Naples or Seneca. He
died in 1901 near Seattle, King Co., WA. WW married Louisa Amelia
Bronson in 1850 in Seneca, Ontario CO, NY. They moved to Milwaukee,
Milwaukee Co., WI before 1860. In 1892 they moved to Washington
State.
WW's known siblings were:
Susan A C Barker, born 1842 in NY, d 1918 in Chicago, Cook Co., IL.
She married Charles S Duncombe in 1844 in Seneca, Ontario Co. , NY.
Before 1850 they moved to Racine Co., WI, then to Charles hometown of
St. Thomas, Canada before returning to Racine Co., WI before 1860.
They moved to Chicago about 1890.
Barnard C Barker, b c1831, d 1887 in Niagara Falls, Niagara Co., NY.
He married Adeline (surname unknown).
Edward R Barker, b c1831 (maybe a twin of Barnard). He died 1882 in
Racine Co., WI, unmarried. He was severely injured in the Civil War
from which he never recovered.
Jane Barker, b about 1833. She may have married a Mr. Humphries and
may have lived in Racine Co., WI and elsewhere.
If Orlando is their father, there were probably at least two other
brothers, born in the 1830's.
Thanks for any help in putting this family together.
Lynn Welch, Bothell, WA
