I had answered privately to the same information on Goochland county.
My interest is that there seems to be a migration in the 1770-80 period
to Henry county from Goocland and there were Joel,Thomas, two Johns, two
Charles, Edward, etc.in Henry county with John for example taking the
oath in 1778 there. Others, especially Charles, were very active in the
established church there.
It also appears this same group, ie both Johns, moved eventually to
Washington county Va. in the early 1780s. A Charles, born 1763 of this
group fought at Kings Mountain in 1780 and Thomas, possibly a brother,
fought with the Montgomery county milita.
Do you see any possible connections with your line? The 1763 Charles
has been my brick wall for many years but I have only recently
discovered the Henry county material -- and this is also on the NC line
which might be part of a migratory pattern for some Barkers as well.
