Here is some info on the Deerfield BARNARDs in Madison County, NY.
BARNARD, David - settled in Lenox; ran a tavern at Quality Hill. One of
several brothers. Census of 1810 - 12 in family. Census of 1800 - 11 in
family. Sons Eli, Pardon, Horace, David and Friend. Rev War Veteran. Wife
Dorothy.
BARNARD, Eli - (tax) collector of Sullivan (township) 1807. Lost in swamp,
died near Oneida lake (1807). Lived at Quality Hill.
BARNARD, Horace - son of David. Resided Canastota in 1835. Veteran War of
1812. (This looks like the fellow who migrated to Washtenaw Co., Michigan)
