William Barnard left England after 1861 and in the 1870 US census of
Kentucky he was a farmer living in Grants Lick, Campbell county with
his wife Emily (40) and their two sons William junior (5) born in
Ohio, and Samuel (2) born in Kentucky.
In the 1880 census they were still at Grants Lick but now had two
additional children, Thomas (9) and Sarah (6) both of whom were born
in Kentucky. Emily, like William senior was born in England but so
far I have been unable to find their marriage in England or the US.

Thomas H. married Mandal (28) in 1902 but I have not discovered
where. They adopted two children Ernest M. (5) and Ida E. (2). In the
1910 census Thomas also a farmer was with his wife and children in
Cairo Township, Randolph County, Missouri, and in 1920 he and his
family were living in McAllen City, Justice Precinct #3, Hidalgo
County, Texas. Thomas was now a House Mover.

I have not found any additional traces of William senior or the rest
of his family, although a William Barnard who could possibly be him
died 4 September 1916 in Knox County, Kentucky.

If any of the above rings any bells for anyone or any help could be
offered, I would love to hear from you.

Thanks, Alan
