Searching for parents and information on John P. Barnes, born in NY
in 1812, married to Mahalia Mary Fisher in 1836, probably in Monroe Co.,
NY. They are listed in the Erie Co., NY Buffalo Twp 1850 Census as being
the parents of four children - Anna born 1840 NY, Edgar Eli born 1842
NY,
Mary A. born 1845 NY and John F born 1849 NY. The three older children
show up in Davies Co., Indiana in 1860 - no sign of parents or the
youngest child. The father, John Barnes was supposed to have died in
1851 and the mother remarried Henry Curtis in 1855 and then she also
died in 1858 but I have no record of these events and don;t know where
they took place. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Thanks for your
