Together Again
SANDY--Gladys, age 93, went to join her beloved husband January 7, 2000.
She was born in Joplin, Missouri on May 20, 1906 to Walter and Bertha
Manzer. Gladys was a convert to the LDS Church in 1924. She and Eldon met as
he served a mission where she lived in Oklahoma. They were married December
18, 1926 in Lehi, Utah. They later moved to Sandy and opened a grocery store
where, with their two daughters, they lived until now. Many young people
learned about the church from Gladys as she was an excellent teacher. During
her high school education she was captain of the debate team, student body
president and senior class valedictorian. One of the biggest blessings
Gladys and Eldon passed onto their family, and all who knew and loved them,
was their great joy in living and their sense of humor. We thank them for
that.
The family would like to praise the beautiful, loving people at Draper
Rehabilitation and Care Center who tended to mother's needs.
Survivors include two daughters, Rosalyn Mumford and husband, Ferris,
Sandy; Carmen Lindquist and husband, Ray, Dubois, WY; grandchildren, Michele
Myers, Teresa Ellis, Kim Lindquist, Wendy Lindquist; 10 great-
grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; brother, Boyd Manzer,
Wisconsin; and sister, Violet Greer, Texas. Preceded in death by her
husband, Eldon; and a grandson, Caray Lindquist.
Services will be held Monday, January 10, 2000, at 11 a.m. in the Goff
Mortuary 8090 So. State St. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
