Hello my cousins - I have just received the Soc. Sec. application for my
grandmother's half brother, Joe (Joseph) Madison Barnes. He was the son of
John Samuel Barnes and (2nd wife) [mothers full maiden name] Lula T. (Tully?)
Barnes. He was born Nov. 16, 1896, Corsicana, Navarro Co., TX, and died Feb
23, 1968, age 72, Los Angeles, CA.

My question is could this Lula T. Barnes be a distant cousin? In the estate
papers for John Samuel Barnes Lula T. states: "I was born in the State of
Georgia, and afterward moved to Clay County, Mississippi, where I was married
to J.S. Barnes, now deceased, in the year of 1895, and immediately after my
marriage to said J.S. Barnes I came with him to his home in Navarro County,
Texas. The said J.S. Barnes had been previously married to a Miss Belle
Myzelle, about the year of 1885, and of this first marriage there was born a
daughter, now Mrs. Belle Stewart, No other children were born of this first
marriage, and said first wife died in Navarro County Texas, in August, 1886."

I know it's not much to go on - but any ideas? - Dot
