Subject: [BARTON-L] My genealogy files

Hello:
I am new to this list and just wanted to introduce myself. I am a Computer
Science professor at Mississippi State University. I specialize in
Artificial Intelligence, Neural Networks, and Genetic Algorithms, and I
develop software for intelligent scheduling and classification.
My hobbies include genealogy, reading science fiction, listening to music
(mostly rock), and playing wargames (both board games, such as Avalon Hill's
Panzerblitz, as well as strategic-level computer games, such as Civilization
II).
I am married to the former Lois Carolyn Matson and have 4 children, Mrs.
Noah (Jennifer) Ramon, Jonathan, Alan, and Wendy. We live in Columbus, MS,
on 25 acres with a pond, 3 dogs, 2 cats, and a goldfish. I spend a lot of
my spare time mowing the yard :)
A set of my genealogy files, including my Barton ancestors, is available in
Microsoft Word format at:

I accumulate new information from time to time and occasionally update these
files. For example, I recently bought The Barton Book (a big blue book from
South Carolina, I think) and have not yet had time to check to see if it has
any new information not already in my files. I would be interested in
exchanging information with anyone else who has information about my line of
Bartons.
