Hi,

I am new to the list and I am looking for info. on Enoch J. Barton. He
was born in 1819 in Edgefield, South Carolina. I am looking for info. on his
parents, siblings and descendants.

He moved to Chambers County, Alabama before 1837, he is listed on the
1840 census there. He married Rebecca Jane Meacham in 1837 in Chambers
County, Alabama.

He moved to Randolph County, Alabama before 1860 and settled in the Rock
Mills area until his death in 1896.

Family stories says that is mother died and his father remarried and he
didn't get along with his step-mother so he ran away from home around the
age of 15. In 1837, in the Orphans Court in Chambers County, Alabama he had
himself declared an Orphan in order to marry because he was under the legal
age, he was 18 years old.

Any info. on him or his family would be greatly appreciated.
