Searching for Phoebe Barton b. 1759-60 (in NC?), who married Joseph
Nation Jr. in 1775. She had ten children, the first ones being born in
NC and SC, and the last ones being born in Blount Co., AL. Sometime
before 1840, they moved to Yalobusha Co. MS where she died before 1855.

I have also seen her name as Phoebe Nelson. This could be her real
maiden name, middle name, or possibly her first married name. She was
only 15 when she married Joseph, which doesn't give her much time to
have been married previously. Another descendant of hers told me her
father was William Barton, but I haven't seen anything to confirm this.

Anybody have an extra Phoebe Barton? I am descended from her first
child, Bayless Nation b. 1782.
