As the phrase goes "good question". And one I can't answer. The only
connection to my pre Rev War SC, BAVESTER BARTON and unknown earlier
antecedents that connects with your inquiry is the country of origin WALES.
This was definitley claimed by our line. However, we cannot extrapolate
from early DAR records, for I am told the proofs were most uncertain.
Perhaps the internet will untangle all this, so I am very interested in what
you prove for yourself. I have searched BARTONs for 25 years and have
never seen your William Barton who went to KY with Daniel Boone connected
with the Rev. Barton of Rev Wartime in Philadelphia. Please keep me informed
when you work your line out. Mary Ruth Barton

years. The present seal differs from it only in details of execution. This

> William Barton was a graduate of the Dublin University and came to America
in his young manhood. His brother, Thomas Barton, an Episcopal Minister came
at the same time, and settled in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. William Barton
became a Professor in the University of Pennsylvania after the war and lived
on Philadelphia until his death in 1817."
