Hi, my name is Judith Knowler from NZ. I am researching Knowlers who came to New Zealand from Gravesend, England, in 1875.

I am wanting any information on Martha Ann Darrell (b. 1855 in Kent, England).

She married Henry Knowler at Eastchurch England on 7 October 1871.

They had Henry, Richard, Martha and Charles.

After Henry died in NZ, Martha married William Barton on 30 August 1880 in New Plymouth, NZ. He was 35 or 45 yrs old at this time. William Barton was born in Bristol, England and a Sailor.

William and Martha had a son (William Barton/Knowler) on 31 March 1882 (or 1 April 1882).

On 29 September 1895 Martha had a daughter Jessie (illeg) who was supposedly fathered by Robert Thompson (b. 1827 in Lerwick Sthetland Isles). Martha was housekeeping for Robert (who had previously been married to Marion Moffat on 11 November 1852. - Their children were Robert, Henry, Mary, Margaret and John Thompson).

Any information regarding William Barton or Robert Thompson would be greatly appreciated too.
