Project 42 is underway! We are testing 22 men who are already a part of our Barton DNA Project. The Sponsorship committee has paid a portion of the cost for 15 of the men and 7 have committed to the full cost. (We had 21 men from Lineage I signup for the project and one man from Lineage VIII decide to get his markers extended for help in matching to other surnames.)
I added a section to the bottom of our Project 42 page which shows the participants and families represented in the Project 42. (Scroll down to see this portion of the page)

I've already received my test kit and put it back into the mail. Once all 22 kits and the payments are received at Family Tree DNA, they will process our kits as a batch. Current estimate is 5-6 weeks after they are all received. I'd guess that this means that it will be in the second half of May. More on the expected date once all kits are in.

ps After we understand the results, we may sponsor a Phase 2 for selected participants. In the meantime, if a minimum of three folks want to take the test at full price, I can arrange them to be a second batch. So, let me know if you want to be considered next time.
