Richard Myhre,
If I wasn't so stupid I wouldn't have had to wait till you
pointed it out to me, but I know who you are now! You are a cousin of
Kirk Cooper as well as Latricia. He gave me a copy of your family tree
a year or so ago, since then he has got more interested in genealogy.
He said if did any good that he would get in tough with me. So far I
have found a George B. Shepard with a son name Hiram born in 1813 and
the family on back to where they came from England. As of yet I have
no proof that this is the right Hiram.
I am Glenn Warren Place b. Prescott, Az. 4/15,1934 son of Ralph
Clark Place and Freda Rose Wetmore, I married:
Latricia Ann Rathbun b. 12/27/1940 Ridgefield, Clark Co., Wa.
dau. of Doris Sophia Shepeard and James William Rathbun. Jim descended
from John Rathbun, on of the original founders of Block Island, off RI.
USA.
We have two tall, handsome, healthy sons Warren marrying a
Sasha Warren and Wayne marrying a Kim Fuller, both of them are lovely
ladies, but likely cousins. Latricia and I were distant cousin from
several different lines. I wonder sometimes if this makes a
difference These Old English families were so inbreed before they came
over from England and been continuing it every since.
Have you had any luck taking the Bassett Family across the
pond to England?
I find over there dating way back, but nothing that I could even come
close to connecting to William except that his father may have been named
Wiliam or Walter and his mother maybe was Cecellia Light or something
similar.
We live a couple miles SE of Yacolt, in Cark Co., Wa.
About half a mile down the road from the Old Shepard Farm, where Doris
and her siblings grew up.
Talk later, have a nice day!!!
Glen and Latricia
