I have sent this querie in before but had no answers. Still looking for
any information on anyone in this family,especially anything on the
ancestry of George.

George Bassett was born about 1798 and died 15 Aug. 1851 at his home at
155 Rivington Street, Manhatten, NY City. His death notice was in the
New York Evening Post on Saturday 16 Aug. 1851. He was married to ANN
M. ___?___. He was a shoemaker in Manhatten. Their children were:

1. JANE ANN BASSETT: b. 23 Nov. 1825 at NYC. She was christened 3 July
1831 at All Saints Epis Church in NYC. She was married there 26 May 1847
to JOSEPH DIXON.

2. ARTHUR BASSETT: b. 30 Apr. 1827 at NYC and died in 1884 or later.
He was christened 3 July 1831 at All Saints Epis. Church in NYC. He
married Mary Ann Ready. He was a lawyer in Brooklyn, NY

3. ALEXANDER BASSETT: b. 3 Aug. 1829 at NYC. He was christened 3 July
1831 at All Saints Epis. Church in NYC. He married MARY ___?___. He
died 22 June 1895.

4. MARIE ELIZABETH BASSETT: b. 18 Mar. 1836 at NYC. She was christened
6 Apr. 1838 at All Saints Epis. Church in NYC. She was married there 6
Feb. 1856 to WILLIAM LOWE, Jr.

5. CHARLES AUGUSTUS BASSETT: b. 11 Jan. 1838 at NYC. He was christened 6
Apr. 1838 at All Saints Epis. Church in NYC.

6. AMELIA BASSETT: b. 9 Nov. 1839 at NYC. She was christened 20 Feb.
1840 at All Saints Epis. Church in NYC.

7. CAROLINE BASSETT: b. 11 June 1842 at NYC. She was christened 13 Jan.
1843 at All Saints Epis. Church in NYC.

8. MARY CLARK BASSETT: b. 17 Apr. 1844 at NYC. She was christened 31
Jan. 1845 at All Saints Epis. Church in NYC.
