I am just beginning to work on my German line. My grandmother's maiden
name is Wilferth. I have researched back on her line until I've hit a
brick wall, I am hoping that someone may be able to help with this
problem.

I have a John Wilferth who immigrated from Germany (according to family
sources). I have him on one Census that states that he and his brother
were from "Bysen" a later Census states that he was from Bavaria. In
researching I can find no reference to a "Bysen" in Germany. Can anyone
shed any light on this? I'd appreciate any input or ideas.
