Hi Adele,

I just received some additional information on the Blandford Bairds from
the Berkshire Family History Assoc., Inc. By the way included in their $12
yearly membership is two hours of free research by volunteers at the
Berkshire Athenaeum, Pittsfield's Public Library, which holds the major
research collection in Western MA. One only pays for copying and postage,
not a bad deal, I think.

The sources are "Blandford, MA Families, Vol 1, Baird Family #1 and Vol. 3,

Then to further confuse my Absalom puzzle, a page from the Brown family of
Blandford was included with the above information. I don't know what the
reference "Hartford Times" refers to, especially with dates in the 1950's.
Does any one know if this is a newspaper, genealogy publication or what?

2. Jean
m. John Davies of #4, 16 Feb 1758 (B.T.R..)

2. Martha
m. James Robinson, 7 Jun 1753

2. Thomas

The following 1790 Blandford census info was also included:

James Beard 2 - 1 - 3
John Baird 3 - 1 - 3
James Beard, Jr. 1 - 3 - 2
Joseph Beard 2 - 1 - 3
Ezra Beard 2 - 0 - 1

I know that Ezra Beard/Baird removed to Schoharie Co.(then Delaware Co.) in
the early 1790's as he was one of the first settlers of Jefferson. In the
1800 Census CD Index of Schoharie Co, I found on Pg 1204 the following
Bards - Ablom, Ezra, John and Luke. In 1810, I found the following Beards -
on Pg. 90, Absalom, on Pg. 91, Ezra, on Pg. 92, Luke and on Pg 87, William.
It seems to me that these would be the same people that are included in
the information I received from the Berkshire F.H.S., with the exception of
William. I am descended from Absalom thru his son William. HOWEVER, the
Ablom of 1800 was born 1774-1784 and his wife 1755-1774. He has a male and
a female born 1784-1790 and a male and a female born 1790-1800. The
Absalom of 1810 was born 1765-1784 and has a male born 1784-1794 and a
female born 1790-1800. Also, I think this William of 1810 is too old, born
1765-1784, to be my ancestor as Absalom was married about 1793 and my
William should be no older than about 17. Any observations, suggestions or
information re any ties with this family would be greatly appreciated. And
if you've read this far thank you for bearing with me.

Sue
