For those of you looking for Beards in Texas. We are Beards in Texas,
but are at a dead end to trace our ancestors. My husband's father was
William David Beard, born close to Ft. Worth in 1887. His father was
Robert Singleton Beard, the only census we can locate him in is 1920 in
Johnson County Texas. It says he was born in Texas and his parents were
born in Tennessee. His headstone lists his birth date as 1850. We have
heard that he had a half brother named Jim.
Robert Singleton Beard married Susan A. Gregory who has ties to Ill.,
and some of her relatives were in Sumner County, Tenn. Does any of this
sound familiar to anyone?
