Below is a little more information on the E B Beard that Melissa listed here on the 13th from the 1860 St Francois Co, MO census. A cousin was kind enough to provide me with this. We still don't know for sure which Beard family he belonged to.

Edmund B. Beard b. Feb. 9, 1809 IN
wife: Lavinia b. 1816 NY
appears in Polk Co. MO 1840 census and St. Genevieve Co. MO land records selling land in 1841.
listed in St. Genevieve Co. MO 1850 census with William R. (14), Joyhn S. (12), Joshua (9) and Edmund B. (6) and George W. (3) and one daughter Louisa (4-1/2) all born in MO.
listed in 1880 census of St. Francois Co. MO (Liberty twp.). He petitioned St. Francois Co. court to change the road from Ine Lamotte to St. Marys Landing in 1861 and was election judge there in April 1865 and the court gave him $30 for taking care of J.N. Hunt family in Sept. 1875.
MIssouri Historical Review, Vol. 4, page 330 states he died at Jaydee MO Mar. 14, 1910. Member of Masonic lodge at Libertyville MO.
