Could you provide a bit more info on your David?
I have a ggGrandfather Charles Beard born 1792 in NY, half French,
married a Dutch woman, and had a son David born in 1826, Ohio. My
greatGrandfather.
Other members of the family (Charles') went by name Baird, per my
Grandfather, but we have no ident on who/where they were, save that
all are supposedly descended from one John Bard/Beard/Baird of
Scotland (and those with given name John and surname
Bard/Beard/Baird were about as common as fleas on a dogs back in
those days).
My father is likewise a David, and I have a brother and son so
named, so the name seems to have stuck in the family. Wish I could
trace it farther back!
Cheers!
