I find this six digit thing very interesting because I am the only known
family member that was born with six toes on my right foot and this is the
first I have heard of this on the internet. I am 57 but have only been
doing genealogy a couple of years. I live in Corpus Christi, Tx. My 3X gr.
grandfather was:
William Beard (1775-78?) Johnston Co., NC. Died in Randolph Co., GA in
1832. (I have a copy of his Will). He married Mary Ann Rose on 2 Mar 1803,
dob unknown. Daughter of Benjamin Rose, Jr. & Lucy Harper of Charles
Parish, York Co. VA.
William and Mary Ann had the following children:
1. Council Jones (1804) ...this child is not proven as he was not in the
Will of William's
2. Sarah "Sally" (1806) married Josiah Sasser
3. Rebecca (1808) married Miles H. Jernigan
4. Barney (1810) no known marriage
5. William Green (1812)
6. Mary Jane (1815) married Simeon Moore
7. John J. (1818) my 2Xgr.grandfather, married Sarah "Sally" Gentry born
1818 Edgefield Co., SC, the daughter of John Gentry and ?
8. Betsey Ann (?) married John H. Bailey
9. Edna Mariah (?)married Samuel Rollins
My 2x gr. grandfather John J. Beard and wife Sarah Gentry had five sons all
born in Clay Co. GA: William Wilson (married Gillie Gentry), John Hezekiah,
Barney Washington (my gr. grandfather who married first Amanda "Annie" Hobbs
and second Ellen Leander Cox Boyd Lee Gilliam), James Rose (married
Temperance Hobbs), Oran Blufford (married Sarah E. "Callie" Gentry and
George B (married Frances Allie Garrett). This family came to TX in about
1878. John J. Beard and his first 3 sons fought in the Civil War.
We are not for sure who my 4xgr. grandfather is. We were told his name was
John and he was from NC but we have no info.
Seems as all the Beards have a John, William, James, etc. We were told that
our Beards came from Ireland but we can't prove this until we find out who
William's father and mother were, if we ever do.
