Hello, I was happy to see your e-mail on your Beard's in SC. I am
researching my Beard's in NC. I have been told that they were not kin to
the ones in SC but I don't know enough to say. My line is John Beard of
Buncombe, NC I do not know who he was married to but I have been told that
he was born 1735 in Ireland. I do not know when he came to the States. I
have down that he had two sons and a daughter in NC (maybe more) Alexander
b: 1777 Buncombe, NC moved to Lincoln Co., TN about 1807 married an
Elizabeth?? (this is my line) another son Absalom b: 1770 and married Jane
McMinn and a daughter Lavina who married Robert McMinn. Do you have any of
these names in your book?? My line from my grandfather -- Charles McKinney
Beard, George Reed Beard, Alexander Beard, John Beard. John served in the
Rev. War but I have not been able to find that either. There seems to be so
many John Beards and finding mine has been a hard one He was suppose to
have got lots of land in TN for his Rev. War service. I have found lots of
land deeds in Lincoln Co.TN with John and Alexander's name on the deeds
even selling to each other. But I was told that it was another county that
John first received land but I do not know what county that was. I have
very little to go on. I have found a lot of the information that I have
found on the internet has lots of mistakes. Thanks for your time. Hoping
