Greetings to all:
I have been on these lists for a number of years and have found lots
of good helpful information on our respective families Beard AND Baird.
In fact I have several file cabinets full of information, But still
wondered whats true in mant instances.A lot of the information is just
copies from
what some one else found ,Saw, Or heard and adopted it for fact ,when it
might really be only Myth or name line vs. blood line.
We have come a long way and solved a lot of brick walls. Electric mail
(E-mail)has been a boon for all.vs. Snail mail when we had to really
write
,put it in an envelope, stamp it and take it to the mail box or post
office, and hope somebody would get it and actually read it and
answer.Now---
the click of a MOUSE,But ,---it hasn't stopped there---Now its just a
little cotton swab and a lab. technician to check a male Y chromosone
for a match. I tried it with an accredited Lab.to see if I had a match
with the Baird line from John Baird ,Jamestown, James city Va.and on to
Prince George, Surry and Sussex counties in Va. Then on to NC,then some
to Wilson Co. Tn. and others to Abbeville SC, Tn. Ga. Ala. Miss.
etc.It was athree way test. The two other than myself was a perfect
match, But--- Mine did NOT MATCH.What happened?
I also followed the NJ. OLD JOHN BAIRD line for 75 yrs. and proved that
wrong (at least I thought) am now trying a dna from that line.
ANYWAY, We just can,t be too CAREFUL what we say or copy and pass along.
If any of you out there has DNA alleles(DYS NUMBERS) I would be happy to
compare with you.
Trying to find my TRUE ROOTS.
