it's me, carol-- from the bearden yahoo group! u should have just emailed me on this! ansel is the son to richard bearden B:1760 and sarah nancy bennett.. as to richard's parents-- some say he is the son to john bearden and lettice winn. but there is another richard, born 1754, that is also said to be the son to john & lettice. both richard's have some listings on ancestry to be the son of other bearden's also. as to which richard is the rightful son to john & lettice is pretty much a toss up. both of them married a Sarah, born about the same time also. i have each richard and their descendants all sorted, but still not sure which one is the son to john and lettice.
