Emerson Beauchamp Jr.
BEAUCHAMP, EMERSON JR. (Age 72)
Of California St., Washington, DC, formerly of Russellville, KY, died
Wednesday, December 26, 2001 at the home of his mother on West 7th St., in
Russellville. He was born in Logan County, KY December 2, 1929 to the late
Emerson "Doc" Beauchamp and Elizabeth Orndorff Beauchamp. He was a Korean US
Army Veteran and attended the Methodist Church. He was retired from the
staff of the former Washington Star Newspaper where he had been a Reporter,
a City Editor and a Drama Critic. He was a graduate of the University of
Kentucky with a Bachelors Degree in English, Phi Beta Cappa. He obtained a
Masters Degree from Columbia University in New York City. He was also a Life
Master Bridge Player. He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth O. Beauchamp
of Russellville, KY; brother, Clark Beauchamp of Somerset, KY and three
nieces. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 29, 2001 at 11 a.m.
in MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, Russellville, with Rev. John Weber officiating.
Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. There will be visitation at the
funeral home starting at 9 a.m., Saturday until time of services. Memorial
contributions may be made to the American Heart Association; or the American
Diabetes Association.
