Hi Gloria,
I just used the Hugh Wallis IGI Batch System which links into the IGI.
Using that resource you can look specifically at Toddington and the Smith
births that are recorded.
Listed below are the births to a William Smith and Sarah.
There are no births recorded in Toddington to a Robert Smith.
There is no marriage in Toddington for William and Sarah, no mariage for a
Robert that would fit the time
George Smith 7 sep 1828 Toddington
Elizabeth Smith birth 13 Jul 1822 christening 20 Oct 1822
Joseph Smith 15 Aug 1824 Toddington, Bedford
Now there may have been a mistake in the transcribing of the marriage or
William may have also been known as Robert (nick name)
I would go with William.
Would be interested to know if you do find anything else out.
