You'll find the data from the 1880 Census is free anywhere you go, because
the Mormons are the ones who transcribed it. Their bargain to share the
data was that the data continue to be freely available. You'd use Ancestry
or Genealogy.com to get the scanned images from the census -that's their
contribution.

The 1880 Census, as well as the 1881 British Isles census and 1881 Canadian
Census are at familysearch.org, the Mormon website.
