Good morning John,
This is the information I have on the GERARD and DEJEET families:
Louis PETIT and Maria GERARD - submitted by Gabrielle (PETIT) VALENTIN,
daughter
". . .Louis PETIT, came from Belgium in 1905. He came to Frys where his
sister, Mrs. Augustine COP, also came to live. He bought the NE13-7-31 W1,
east of Frys. Two years later, he sold it to my uncle, Jules COP. He
decided to move to the United States where his uncle was living in
Massachusettes.
"In 1909, he married my mother, Maria GERARD. My mother was born in
Belgium. She came to the United States with her parents. She had nine
sisters and one brother, all living in the States. Before she was married,
she used to work in a wool factory. . .
"My father worked in the States for twelve years as watchman at the wool
factory."
After that, he came back to Canada with his wife and two children, in 1919.
. ."
"Louise REVET (July 23, 1871-1964) married Aime GERARD. They moved to the
United States and had a family of five."
There is more information regarding these families in the Local History Book
I cited below.
Source of the above information:
Footprints in the Sands of Time: Antler, Bellegarde, Braeside,
Coulson, Kelvindale, Oatlands, Silver Dale. Antler and District History
Committee 1983. Friesen Printers. 1993.
So far I have nothing on the DEJEET family. Hope this helps.
