Marcel,

Tricky question, but a possible answer is:

MAALTE is a hamlet of DRONGEN. MAALTEBRUGGE could be a bridge across a river.

The Maaltebruggestraat do exist today in Gent (as Drongen is now part of
Gent). Try to do a lookup with Mapquest (or similar).

The situation of the roads have changed around 1960, due to the
construction of the Ringvaart. Maalte is probably situated on both sides of
that canal (vaart).
